Firstly, our new members wine reception will take place next Friday (22nd) at 8pm in the Eliz Room. The Eliz room is on the first floor in house six. There’ll be munchies and plenty of free wine so come along and meet the committee and your fellow members. Feel free to bring your friends along and they can sign up on the night. Here’s the Facebook link for the event, make sure to let us know if you’re coming! http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=155952074445100&ref=mf

A few people have asked about our annual mushroom hunt. It is happening!! We’re planning to have it at the start of November but there will be an email with all the details closer to the time.

During freshers week we mentioned a trip to The Eden Project in Cornwall. For those of you who don’t know the eden project, this is the link for the website: http://www.edenproject.com/

We’re planning to go during the first weekend in February. Seems ages away but we want to book now so that we can avail of cheap flights and make the trip as cheap as possible for you guys. The trip is subsidised and should cost you around €80 which will include flights, a coach to transfer us from Bristol to St. Austell, a two night stay in a hotel in St. Austell, transport to and from the Eden Project and the entry fee into the park. Pretty decent deal but we are working on making it even cheaper! There are limited places on this trip so it’s first come first served, we’re asking for a €20 deposit to be payed at the wine reception next Friday. If you can’t make it though and really want to go on the trip just email me and I can collect the money off you sometime next week.

One of our committee members is hosting a pubquiz next Wednesday October 20th in Doyles on College Green. It starts at 6.30pm and there’ll be plenty of drink promos on the night. It’s in aid of a really great cause; Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue. The team all work on a purely voluntary basis. No matter the weather or time of night they’re willing to leave their families to help some poor sod who’s stuck up a hill and they don’t receive a cent for it! Here’s the Facebook link so check it out and get your friends together! http://www.facebook.com/index.php?lh=220544cb5822ad0415445270629b6c07&#%21/event.php?eid=118778698178865

Hope to see you at the wine reception!
